| For the 2nd week in a row Firefighters from Center Moriches FD help contain a large brush fire in Manorville.
Just after 1pm a large brush fire erupted in Manorville near Weeks Avenue and North Street. At the height of the blaze, nearly 300 homes near Weeks Avenue and Moriches-Middle Island Road were evacuated.
30 fire departments responded to the blaze which burned just south of the Long Island Expressway near exit 69.
No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire under investigation by the Suffolk County Arson Squad and Brookhaven Town Fire Marshalls Office |
