| Two members from the Center Moriches Fire Department recently participated in a 4 hour Hazardous Materials Technician refresher class. This class is designed to give our first responders the necessary skills to handle hazardous materials emergencies within our community.
Lieutenant Dan Zvanovec and Captain Ian Foley took part in different evolutions including donning level A and B Haz-Mat suits and controlling leaks using different plugging and patching techniques. Firefighters also received updated training in taking air samples with special meters for poisonous gasses.
The class was held at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. |
