At 10:14am the Center Moriches FD was dispatched to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train at the Railroad Avenue Crossing.
The MTA police report the man fell off his bike, stood up and continued to stay on the tracks. A police officer who happened to be nearby and another woman yelled at the man to move as the train came closer. The bicyclist was struck and killed by the oncoming LIRR train.
Railroad Avenue was closed for several hours while police conducted their investigation.
