Center Moriches Firefighters Respond to Early Morning Mastic Fire

At 5:12am Center Moriches firefighters were requested to assist Mastic Firefighters at the scene of a commercial structure on Montauk Highway in Mastic.

The fire, which broke out at the Manor House Restaurant located at 1443 Montauk Highway in Mastic was fully involved when Mastic firefighters arrived on scene.

Center Moriches Firefighters were requested to stand-by at the Mastic fire with its "Rapid Intervention" team. The Rapid Intervention Team or "RIT" team is a team of specially trained firefighters whose sole responsibility is to rescue fellow firefighters who become lost, trapped, disoriented or injured at the scene of the fire.

It took firefighters over 3 hours to bring the blaze under control. Two firefighters received minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshalls Office and Suffolk County Police Arson Squad.

Center Moriches Firefighters were back in service at 9am.
