Just after 7pm Suffolk County Police requested the Center Moriches Fire Department to respond to a structure fire on Laura Lee Drive off Belleview Avenue.

Upon arrival, firefighters were met with heavy smoke and fire coming from the back of the house. While firefighters went to work to extinguish the fire, additional resources were requested from the East Moriches FD, Mastic FD and the Manorville Fire Departments.

It took firefighters 30 minutes to bring the fire under control. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation from Suffolk County Police Arson Squad and the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshalls Office.
