At 1:30pm on Tuesday, Center Moriches Firefighters were requested to assist Mastic Firefighters at the scene of a structure fire on Poospatuck Ln in Mastic.

Center Moriches Firefighters responded to the scene with a Engine and assisted in extinguishing and overhaul operations.

The fire broke out at the Brave Hearts Smoke Shop and took firefighters just under an hour to bring under control.

East Moriches and Eastport FD as well as Mastic, Shirley and East Moriches ambulance assisted at the fire.

There were no civilian injuries reported. One firefighter was transported to a local hospital with heat related injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Brookhaven Town Fire Marshals office and Suffolk County Police Arson Squad.

Center Moriches Firefighters were back in service within 90 minutes.
