Over the weekend members from the Center Moriches Fire Department Water Rescue Team joined the Mastic Fire Department Marine Incident Response Team for boat operations training.

During the training, members from both teams were given an opportunity to review the equipment and capabilities of each other’s vessels.

Boat operators from each department took turns practicing coming alongside a moving vessel to simulate equipment and patient transfers on the water. Crews also practiced their man overboard procedures and their fire suppression skills.

Both water rescue teams are professionally trained and equipped to handle any type of water emergency they might face throughout the year.
