At 4:47pm on Tuesday Center Moriches Firefighters responded to the entrance of the Heatherwoods Complex on Moriches Middle Island Road for an accident with injuries. Initial reports to 911 were of a multi vehicle accident with one car overturned.

Firefighters and EMS personnel arrived to find 3 cars involved in the accident with one of them on its roof. The occupants of the overturn vehicle had self-extricated prior to the FD’s arrival. As EMS treated the injured occupants firefighters secured the vehicles and helped remove the debris from the roadway

3 people were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation by Suffolk County Police.
