| Center Moriches Fire Department members sharpened their extrication skills in a heavy rescue drill held at the Suffolk County Fire Academy in Yaphank on Thursday. During the drill, firefighters received training in using the "Jaws of Life" and hydraulic cutters to remove the doors and roof off the vehicle. The 'Jaws of Life' are frequently used by firefighters to help extricate people that become trapped in their cars after an accident. |
