On Sunday December 15 the Center Moriches Fire Department held their annual Holiday Parade of Lights along Montauk Highway.

The Center Moriches Fire Department was joined by many of the neighboring fire departments and EMS squads as well as numerous community groups.

Originally scheduled for Saturday the parade was postponed due to winter storm Electra. This was only the 3rd time in the 30 year history of the Holiday Parade of Lights where it had to be rescheduled due to the weather.

Prior to the start of the parade our judges review over a dozen floats and award trophies to the "best" floats. During the parade the winners are announced and trophies are presented to them as they pass by the reviewing stand.

Congratulations to all of our trophy winners:

Best Overall Float – East Moriches Community Ambulance
Best Community Group Float – East End Dance Studio
Best Decorated Fire Apparatus – Mastic Beach Fire Department
Best Fire / EMS Float – Yaphank Fire Department
Best Boy Scout Float – Manorville Crew 631

Special thanks goes to our judges who have the difficult job of reviewing so many great floats, as well as Suffolk County Police COPE Unit and Brookhaven Town Highway Department for their outstanding support to our organization and our community.

On behalf of the officers and Members of the Center Moriches Fire Department we would like to wish all of you a safe and happy holiday season.
