Rapid Intervention Team Responds To Mastic Fire …

At 5:15 this morning Firefighters from the Center Moriches Fire Department were requested to assist the Mastic Fire Department at the scene of a structure fire in the Poospatuck Indian Reservation .

Mastic Fire Department was dispatched to one of the Smoke Shops on Poospatuck Lane at 5:08am after numerous 911 calls reported smoke and fire from one of the building.

Mastic Chief arrived on scene to find the building heavily involved in fire.

It took firefighters approximately 45 minutes to bring the fire under control. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation by Suffolk County Police Arson Squad.

Center Moriches Firefighters were back in service within 2 hours.
