At 2:05pm Center Moriches Firefighters and other local departments were called to assist the USCG in searching for a 6’ Zodiac boat in distress at the west side of the Moriches Inlet.

A call received by the Coast Guard reported people falling overboard in the area.

Once emergency units arrived at the inlet they found the small boat and it’s occupants who were just diving in the area and not in any distress.

Center Moriches Firefighters were back in service with 30 minutes.
