Firefighters Respond To Moriches Middle Island Road Brush Fire ...

At 1:16pm, Suffolk County 911 received a call for a brush fire on the east side of Moriches Middle Island Road between Jerusalem Hollow Rd and the Mirror Pond Villas Complex.

Fire Department units arrived on scene to find the brush fire burning through a large area in a northern direction towards Mirror Lane.

CM Firefighters utilized its brush truck to contain the fire from moving further north. An additional brush truck was requested from the East Moriches FD to help extinguish the fire.

Mastic Firefighters were also requested to stand by at the Center Moriches firehouse to cover any additional calls.

It took Firefighters 90 minutes to bring the fire under control. There were no injuries reported and no houses were damaged as a result of the fire.

All firefighters were back in service within 2 hours
