At 4:46pm Center Moriches Firefighters were requested to an auto accident with injuries on Sunrise Highway west bound just west of the Chapman Boulevard overpass.

Firefighters arrived to find a 2 car accident with one of the vehicles blocking the left lane of Sunrise Hwy.

Firefighter’s worked to secure the vehicles while EMT’s and Paramedics treated the injured occupants.

Center Moriches Fire Police was also on scene assisting Suffolk County Police blocking the left lane of Sunrise Hwy and providing traffic control though the area

One occupant was transported to a local hospital by Center Moriches ambulance with non-life threatening injuries for further evaluation.

The left lane of Sunrise Highway was reopened within 45 minutes.
