Just after 5’oclock on Tuesday evening a power outage sent Main Street into complete darkness.

An area from Brookfield Avenue to Railroad Avenue was affected when a transformer and wires started burning across from the firehouse.
Firefighters were quick to start directing traffic around the burning wires and securing the area making sure everyone was safe.

During that time, Firefighters were also kept busy responding to multiple automatic fire alarms caused by the power outage.

PSEG crews worked to restore the power and had the lights back on around 8pm.
