At 7:42 Wednesday morning Firefighters and EMT’s were requested to an auto accident with injuries on Sunrise Highway at the east bound entrance ramp from Railroad Avenue.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find 2 vehicles off the side of the road. One of the vehicles had overturned and landed right side up pinning the driver inside. Firefighters had to use the “Jaws of Life” to cut the vehicle open to gain access to the driver.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation by Suffolk County Police.
