Each year firefighters from the Center Moriches Fire Department attend live fire training at the Suffolk County Fire Academy in Yaphank.

This month Firefighters from the Center Moriches Fire Department teamed up with Firefighters from the East Moriches Fire Department to take part in the Taxpayer drill.

Fire Academy instructors work with Firefighters who take part in several hands-on evolutions. These evolutions are designed to prepare firefighters to respond to fires inside a commercial building such as a shopping center. These trainings help to build teamwork as well as test the firefighter's skills during live fire conditions.
