National Emergency Services Week brings together our local community and our medical professions to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s 'front line.'

This year’s theme is 'EMS STRONG,' putting EMS squarely where it belongs, as an indispensable part of the healthcare system.

EMS STRONG is what draws a special few together to do incredibly important work, often under difficult circumstances, and many times with little thanks. EMS STRONG is the bond you share with fellow first responders, the knowledge that you’re part of something very special. EMS STRONG is designed to celebrate, unite and inspire the men and woman of EMS, 365 days a year.

This week and all year long, we owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of EMS professionals across the nation. These individuals are true public servants who commit their lives to aiding our residents in times of crisis and emergency.

The brave men and women who volunteer their time with the Center Moriches Fire Department EMS are the first ones on scene of a disaster, a motor vehicle crash or other event that may place them in a hazardous environment. It is important that we take the time to honor these front line medical responders for often going above and beyond the call of duty to save lives, while risking their own.

In 2014, the Center Moriches Fire Department responded to a total of 1,462 calls for service, with 1,109 of those responses requesting emergency medical services. Currently the Center Moriches Fire Department has two Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances and staffs one ALS Paramedic First Responder 24 hours a day.

The Center Moriches Fire Department is proud of all of our EMS providers and the services they provide to our community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

As the Nation celebrates National EMS week we would like to say "Thank You" to all of our department members for the hard work, dedication and service you give to the community.
