This morning firefighters from the Center Moriches FD took part in an auto extrication drill at their training facility on Moriches Middle Island Road.

Firefighters practiced their skills in scene safety, scene size-up, as well as vehicle stabilization. Using the “Jaws of Life” and hydraulic cutters Firefighters systematically dismantled the vehicles.

Each year vehicle extrication becomes more technical and challenging for firefighters as car manufactures introduce new car technology and safety features.
