Junior Firefighters and Explorers from the Center Moriches Fire Department spent the day yesterday with firefighters from the Brookhaven National Lab. They were treated to a tour of the firehouse where they were shown the various fire apparatus and equipment used every day by BNL firefighters.

Center Moriches Jr's also learned the proper use of fire extinguishers as they participated in a simulated fire training.

Our Junior firefighter program is an excellent way to build character, self-confidence and provides a sense of commitment and service to our community. It is also a great introduction to a career path that may be of interest to you.

Many of our Junior members have gone on to become police officers, career firefighters/EMT’s, nurses, and paramedics. Also many of our Department Line Officers started their career with the Center Moriches Fire Department as a Junior Firefighter.

If you live in Center Moriches and between the age 9 and 17 years old and interested in being a member of the Junior Fire Department E-Mail us today at: Juniors@Centermorichesfd.com

Center Moriches Fire Department would like to extend our thanks to Brookhaven National Lab Fire Department and their Firefighter John Foley for taking time out of his busy day to spend the day with our juniors.
