At 8:18am Saturday morning Center Moriches Fire Fighters and EMT’s were requested the scene of an auto accident with injuries on Wading River Road between Chichester Avenue and Brookfield Avenue.

Firefighters arrived on scene and found a single vehicle that crashed into a tree, the driver trapped inside.

While EMT’s and Paramedics treated the driver inside the vehicle, firefighters used the “Jaws of Life” to cut the car open and free the driver.

The driver was transported by Center Moriches Ambulance to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where she was pronounced dead.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752
