This morning Supervisor Ed Romaine has issued a State of Emergency in the Town of Brookhaven effective 9:00 am today, January 23.

He also calls for all vehicles, except for essential emergency vehicles, to be off the roads after 9:00 am today.

Vehicles that are parked in the street must be moved to driveways or be subject to towing at the owner’s expense. Any abandoned vehicles obstructing access for snowplows and emergency vehicles may also be removed by the Town.

Center Moriches Firefighters and EMS personnel will be on standby at the firehouse throughout the storm to handle any emergencies that might occur.

Firefighters ask everyone for your help when the storm is over, If you have a fire hydrant on your property or in front of your business please shovel a 3 foot clearing around it – this will allow firefighters to hook up their hoses and get water on the fire quickly… it can save your life !!
