Just before 4am Suffolk County 911 received a call for flames from the roof of a house on North Bernstein Boulevard off the North Service Road of Sunrise Highway.

Firefighters arrived on scene and found a single story house fully engulfed in flames.

As Center Moriches firefighters went to work extinguishing the fire additional help was requested to the scene from the East Moriches Fire Department and Mastic Fire Department. Manorville firefighters were requested to stand by at the Center Moriches firehouse to cover any additional calls.

It took 50 firefighters an hour to bring the fire under control.

There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Suffolk County Police Arson Squad and the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshalls office.
