Just after 6am on Monday Center Moriches Firefighters and EMTs were requested to an auto accident with injuries east bound on Sunrise Highway east of Railroad Avenue.

Emergency personnel arrived to find an SUV had driven off the highway, overturned and landed in a ditch off the shoulder of the roadway.

While firefighters secured the vehicle EMTs treated and transported the occupants of the vehicle to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Firefighters were back in service within 20 minutes.
