It was 4:37 p.m. on Tuesday when Center Moriches Firefighters were requested to a house on Ocean Avenue where a child was reported to be stuck in a tree.

Firefighters arrived and found a 5-year-old boy had climbed approximately 40 ft up a pine tree before getting stuck.

Firefighters rescued the boy using the tower ladder. Once in position firefighters safely pulled the child into the bucket of the tower ladder where he was lowered to the ground.

CM Firefighters were back in service within 30 minutes.
