At 7:27pm, Center Moriches Firefighters and EMTs were dispatched to an auto accident with injuries west bound on Sunrise Highway just west of Wading River Road.

Emergency personnel arrived on scene and found 2 vehicles in the middle of the highway. While EMTs treated the injured, Firefighters worked to secure the vehicles. CMFD Fire Police assisted Suffolk County Police by diverting the west bound traffic off the highway at the Wading River Road exit.

One occupant was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries for further evaluation. Sunrise highway was reopened within 20 minutes.
