At 10:12am on Sunday the East Moriches Fire Department was notified of an overturned boat with 5 people in the water in the Moriches Bay at the end of Havens Point.

As part of an automatic preplan the Center Moriches Fire Department and the Eastport Fire Departments responded to assist East Moriches Firefighters with rescuing people from the water.

The Center Moriches Fire Department Water Rescue Team responded with its 16’ Zodiac boat and the rescue truck with its cold-water rescue equipment.
