It is with deep regret the Center Moriches Fire Department announces the passing of Ex Chief and 52-year member Gordon Hackney.

Mr. Hackney joined the Center Moriches Fire Department in 1969 and was assigned to Company Two. In 1983, Gordon Hackney was elected to Chief of the Department for which he held for 2 years.

Wake services will take place at the Center Moriches Fire Department located at 301 Main Street Center Moriches, on Thursday June 3rd from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Firematic Services will be held at 8pm.

Funeral services Friday June 4th at 9am at the Center Moriches Fire Department. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Montauk Hwy in Center Moriches.

The Chiefs, Officers, and Members of the Center Moriches Fire Department would like to extend our condolences to the Hackney family.
