At 11:14pm on Tuesday, the Center Moriches Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire on Senix Avenue.

Upon arrival, the Chief advised fire was coming from the 2nd floor window of the house.

The first due engine crew stretched an 1 ¾ hose line to the second floor to extinguish the fire. Using a thermal imaging camera to help firefighters see through the smoke they quickly found the fire in the attic of the house.

As part of a mutual aid pre-plan, Mastic FD was called to the scene with their Rapid Intervention Team. East Moriches Fire Department sent an engine with manpower and Manorville FD sent 1 Engine to stand by at the Center Moriches Fire Department to cover any additional calls.

There were no injuries reported and the fire was brought under control within one hour. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshall's Office.
