Just after 8am Center Moriches Fire Department was dispatched to an auto accident with injuries on Montauk Highway east of Bay Point Drive in Moriches.

Emergency personnel arrived to find 3 vehicles involved in the accident, one of them being a school bus with 33 students on board.

EMT’s quickly evaluated the students on the bus. While most students were not complaining of any injuries, Center Moriches Fire Department EMS and SBUH Medic 65 transported seven students to local hospitals with minor injuries.

The other drivers were not injured and refused medical attention.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by Suffolk County Police.
