On Monday night, members of the Center Moriches Fire Department visited Scouts from Troop 414 and Cub Scout Pack 23 at Clayton Huey Elementary School for a hands-on first aid and safety session.

Firefighters and EMTs taught the Scouts the basics of first aid, how and when to call 911, and talked through different real-life situations where quick action can save a life. The Scouts also got a firsthand tour of the CMFD ambulance, checking out the lifesaving equipment our crews use every day.

The Scouts were excited, engaged, and thanked our members for showing them what to do in an emergency.

As part of our ongoing commitment to community outreach, the Center Moriches Fire Department looks forward to continuing to work with the Scouts in the future.
