From March 16 through May 14, New York State’s annual burn ban is in place to reduce the risk of brush fires and wildfires during the dry spring season.

🚫 Burning leaves, brush, yard waste, and trash is NOT allowed during this time.

❌ Prohibited
β€’ Burning brush, leaves, or yard debris
β€’ Uncontained campfires or recreational fires
β€’ Large outdoor fires

βœ… Allowed
β€’ BBQ grills and similar cooking fires
β€’ Small backyard fire pits or contained campfires
(Must be under 3 ft high and 4 ft wide and contained in a fire ring or fireplace using charcoal or untreated wood.)
Spring brush fires can spread quickly and dangerously, especially with dry vegetation and wind.
