| Yesterday at 6:18 p.m. the Center Moriches Fire Department was activated for mutual aid to the Brookhaven Fire Department for a large mulch fire at a processing facility off Horseblock Road.
Center Moriches firefighters responded with a tanker to support water supply operations for fire attack units operating on scene.
More than 25 agencies responded to assist Brookhaven, bringing a wide range of resources to the scene. The large-scale response highlighted the strong coordination and teamwork among fire departments and emergency services operating at the scene.
At approximately 8:00 p.m. the Brookhaven Fire Chief placed the fire under control. Center Moriches units were released from the scene at 8:15 p.m. |
