| Just after 3:00 p.m. the Center Moriches Fire Department along with the Marine Incident Response Team was requested to assist the Westhampton Beach Fire Department with a boating incident in the Atlantic Ocean in the area of Pikes Beach.
Marine units from multiple departments responded. Within minutes, Center Moriches FD Marine 26 was underway and coordinated with U.S. Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound while responding.
Marine 26 arrived on scene and located a 30-foot vessel grounded on the beach. The occupant of the vessel was able to safely exit the boat onto the beach.
There were no injuries reported, and all responding marine units were back in service within 30 minutes |
