The Center Moriches Fire Department proudly recognizes October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and stands with everyone affected by breast cancer.

For firefighters and emergency responders, cancer prevention is especially important. Throughout our careers, we may be exposed to occupational hazards and carcinogens that can increase cancer risk. Awareness, prevention, early detection, and regular medical screenings remain important tools in protecting our health.

We encourage everyone to:
• Know your risk factors and family history
• Follow recommended screening guidelines
• Schedule regular checkups with your healthcare provider
• Talk with your doctor about any changes or concerns

Early detection can save lives. Don’t wait. Get checked.

This month, we honor breast cancer survivors, remember those we have lost, support those currently fighting, and stand with the families and loved ones affected by this disease.
