Equipment and Capabilities:
The team operates with three boats tailored for different rescue operations:
Primary Vessel:
A 27-foot Thompson Marine Fireboat equipped with twin 200-horsepower engines. This state-of-the-art vessel features advanced marine electronics, including radar and a FLIR night vision system, enabling seamless operations in adverse weather and during nighttime missions. The fireboat is also equipped to assist shore-based firefighters by providing an unlimited water supply, drawing water directly from beneath the hull.
Support Boats:
- A 16-foot V-hull Zodiac with a 40-horsepower motor for shallow water rescues.
- A John Boat designed for shallow water and ice rescue missions.
With these resources and their extensive training, the Marine Incident Response Team stands ready to serve the community whenever and wherever needed.
