| Blizzard warnings have been posted for our region, with the snow starting to fall during the day light hours of Sunday Dec. 26, 2010 lasting til late Monday Dec. 27, 2010.
If you have a fire hydrant located adjacent to your property, the members of Center Moriches Fire Department ask that you consider digging out the hydrant should it become buried, as well as clearing a three-foot area around it to allow our firefighters easy access, should it be needed.
Fire hydrants are essential for providing needed water to fire apparatus to be used by firefighters when a fire occurs. Fire hydrants often become buried in snow from regular snowfall, when plows clear the streets, and when residents dig out sidewalks and driveways. The few moments you spend clearing out a fire hydrant will be of great benefit to the Center Moriches Fire Department and everyone in the neighborhood.
CMFD thanks all of you for taking the time to help us ! |
