At 2:14pm Center Moriches Fire Department was requested to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Moriches Middle Island Road and Meadowood Ln at the entrance to the Tall Oaks Apartment Complex in Moriches.
While responding to the scene emergency personnel were updated the accident involved 2 school buses, a medical transport ambulette as well as multiple other vehicles.
EMT’s and Paramedics arrived and quickly assessed all the occupants and determined additional resources would be needed. Numerous ambulances from the surrounding area were called to assist Center Moriches Fire Department with treating and transporting the injured.
6 vehicles were involved in the accident and a total of 11 patients were transported to area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.
