| This morning, the Center Moriches Fire Department had the honor of hosting a U.S. Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound Search and Rescue (SAR) Council meeting at our firehouse.
The meeting brought together marine and public safety professionals from across Nassau and Suffolk Counties, including fire departments, law enforcement, the U.S. Coast Guard, emergency management agencies, and our commercial marine salvage partners. It provided an excellent opportunity for open discussion, collaboration, and networking among agencies and organizations that routinely work together during maritime emergencies.
These meetings are invaluable for sharing lessons learned, discussing operational challenges, and strengthening the relationships that are critical to successful multi-agency and public-private search and rescue operations on Long Island’s waterways.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to @USCG Sector Long Island Sound for coordinating the meeting, and to all of our regional partners for taking the time to attend. We look forward to continuing to work together to enhance marine safety and SAR readiness throughout our region. |
