On Saturday evening at 5:34 PM, the Center Moriches Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Montauk Highway near Reeves Road.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a Jeep that had left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver was unresponsive inside the vehicle and extricated by EMS personnel. The driver was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by the Suffolk County Police Department.
