| Center Moriches Fire Department stood by for the Yaphank Fire Department during a fundraiser supporting the 3 year old daughter of the Yaphank Fire Department Chief as she bravely battles leukemia.
While members of Yaphank Fire Department were hosting their Spaghetti Dinner & Chinese Auction on Saturday, April 18, Center Moriches crews staffed an engine in the district to ensure continued fire protection and emergency coverage for local residents.
During the standby, Center Moriches firefighters responded to one motor vehicle accident.
It was a strong example of neighboring departments helping one another, both in emergency service and in supporting a family facing a difficult fight.
