| Center Moriches community…
As many of you know, our Holiday Parade of Lights has grown into one of the largest and most celebrated events in our area, with more than 60 community groups, fire departments, and over 2,000 spectators joining us each year. It’s something we’re incredibly proud of, and it truly showcases the spirit of our town.
Because of this growth, Suffolk County Police will be implementing enhanced safety measures this year the kind typically used for large-scale public events. These changes are designed solely to keep everyone safe and ensure the parade continues to be a fun, family-friendly tradition for years to come.
Here’s what to expect:
• No Parking on Main Street – Temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted the night before the parade.
• Vehicles parked on Main Street after 3pm the day of the parade will be towed to a safe location to clear the route and create a safe space for spectators and participants.
• Barricades will be placed along the parade route to improve pedestrian safety and manage the growing crowd.
We know this is a change and that many community members traditionally park along Main Street early in the day to get a good view. With the size of the event continuing to grow, these adjustments are necessary to make sure everyone stays safe and can enjoy the parade without risk.
Please plan ahead and allow extra time for parking. Off-street parking is limited, so carpooling, walking (when possible), and arriving early are strongly encouraged.
Weather Reminder: Cold temperatures are expected during parade hours, so please dress warmly, wear layers, and make sure children and older adults are bundled up appropriately.
Your cooperation helps us keep this event magical, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.
Thank you for understanding, and we can’t wait to see you on parade night!
